Microsoft Learn and the Power Platform

Why?

You may have noticed the last year and a half… we do not see each other in person as much as we would like / as much as we need. So how are going to show off our skills and achievements if we cannot show it during in-person-events on our t-shirts, on our laptops and in our presentations?? Microsoft Learn can help you with your Power Platform skills.

What?

Let me introduce you to Microsoft Learn 🤓 (as if you not already know it). This learning platform of Microsoft gives you the opportunity to learn new things, keep updated about new possibilities and even earn XP-points with badges while doing so:

How?

Anyone can create an account on Microsoft Learn and add Learning Paths as well as Modules (parts of Learning Paths) to their own Collections. As an example please check out the Collection that I created during a challenge organized by Microsoft: LohnDjango’s Collection for Power Platform and Dynamics BizApps.
This specific collection is great for anyone not so familiar with Dynamics 365 (like myself) and see all the relations with the Power Platform. It gave me real good insights on where a big part of the Power Platform came from and I still use a lot from the Learning Paths that I have followed:

  • cool screenshots of the tools within a specific context –>
can easily be used in nice presentations or demo’s
  • whenever someone asks me if there is some information about a specific topic where they can learn more –>
just copy-paste the link to a specific module
  • useful use cases and training modules where Microsoft spins up an actual Virtual Machine / Tenant –>
just follow the instructions and play around with real-life click-through-exercises

You can also look for a desired Microsoft Certification like the Exam for PL-900: Microsoft Power Platform Fundamentals and see the related Learning Paths and Modules on that same web page. It will give you a great head start on passing the exam:

Let’s face it: the badges that we earn and share on social media like LinkedIn and Twitter, are the newest way to show off so why not make it fun? Just use Microsoft Learn for the Power Platform but also for all the other Microsoft related topics. I dare you ⭐😎⭐!
